FULL ITINERARY
Day 1: ARRIVAL IN KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JRO)
Depart your hometown for Kilimanjaro International Airport. On arrival, complete immigration formalities, and step out of the arrivals terminal to be greeted by one of our Ilepeta Safari representatives. Your Tanzania safari begins with an hour transfer to your booked hotel in Arusha, where relaxation and rejuvenation await. Our representative will ensure a swift check-in at the hotel, allowing you to unwind after what’s probably been a long flight.

Day 2: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
It’s time to hit the road in a customized and comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle after breakfast. Our first stop in this safari is Tarangire National Park – a national park that promises wilderness and adventure.Named after the Tarangire River, the park is sometimes described as Serengeti’s quieter counterpart, due to its best game viewing opportunities. Moreover, the park is famous for its large herds of elephant and the baobab tree. Here, the river acts as a drawcard for wildlife during the dry season, making game-viewing very easy.
Tarangire is also home to buffalo, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, wildebeest, gerenuk, and many more. Bird enthusiasts will also discover a paradise here, with the park recording more than 500 species of avian species, such as Kori and the world’s largest bird – the stocking-thighed ostrich.In the afternoon, we’ll stop for a relaxing picnic lunch at a designated spot, before resuming your game drive. By late afternoon, your drive take you to your well-appointed lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: NGORONGORO CRATER – BACK TO ARUSHA
After an early breakfast, your adventure continues to the mesmerizing wildlife arena of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the crater rim, descend to its floor for a half-day tour, inclusive of a picnic lunch by the hippo pools.Unlike the Serengeti, where the Great Migration traverse the endless plains, Ngorongoro’s wildlife remains largely resident, thriving within the natural setting formed by the crater walls. This is one of the few places on Earth where you can spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) in a single game drive.
Approximately 25,000 large animals, mostly ungulates, live in the crater. Large mammals in the crater include the black rhinoceros, African buffalo, and hippopotamus. There are also many other ungulates, such as the blue wildebeest, Grant’s zebra, eland, and Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. Waterbucks are primarily found near the Lerai Forest. Cheetahs, East African wild dogs, African leopards, and spotted hyenas are rarely seen, as are buffalos during the wet season. Notably absent from the crater are giraffes, impalas, topis, and crocodiles.
At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch in the shades of the Lerai Forest, where you might catch sight of elephants or baboons wandering nearby. After lunch, resume your game drive, taking in the crater’s diverse habitats, including open grasslands, dense forest, and the seasonal Munge River.In the afternoon before early evening hours, ascend the crater walls and begin your trip back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening. Drop-off will be at your hotel, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), or Arusha Reginal Airport (ARK) for your onward flights.
